Embry Riddle lands partnership with Austrian plane company

DAYTONA BEACH —
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has reached an agreement with an Austrian plane manufacturer to bring the company’s research division to the Daytona Beach campus.
Under the agreement, Diamond Aircraft Industries will expand its current international research & development program and work with Embry-Riddle students, staff and faculty from the university’s engineering and aviation colleges as well as its Eagle Flight Research Center.
The announcement was made at the Paris Air Show Monday with Governor Rick Scott, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University president Dr. John P. Johnson and Diamond Aircraft Industries’ CEO and owner Christian Dries.
Diamond Aircraft Industries, which manufactures single and twin-engine propeller aircraft, will begin working at the Embry-Riddle campus in October.
