Groundbreaking for Daytona International Speedway renovations

DAYTONA BEACH —
It’s a big day at Daytona Beach International Speedway. Groundbreaking will take place for Daytona Rising 500, the tracks $400 million renovation project.
The renovation project includes the re-development of the front-stretch of the speedway.
The goal is to enhance the fan experience, beginning with five expanded and redesigned fan entrances along International Speedway Boulevard.
Racing will continue during the construction which will take 2.5 years to complete.
Crews will work on the outer part of the track during 2014 and then the inside in 2015.
The project is scheduled to be completed in January 2016.
