Tiki hut catches fire during fireworks display

NEW SMYRNA BEACH —
A 4th of July fireworks celebration in Volusia County had some tense moments when a large tiki hut pavilion along North Causeway in New Smyrna Beach caught fire Thursday night.
Fire crews quickly put the fire out but there was significant damage to the roof.
No injuries were reported.
Investigators said fireworks ashes may have sparked the fire.
The State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating to determine how the fire stated.
