Daytona Beach Police Sgt. Penny Dane has resigned after admitting to posting nude pictures of herself online while on duty.
Daytona Beach Sgt. Penny Dane resigned last week after an investigation revealed 274 pornographic images on two of her work computers, as well as her frequent use of a virtual sex website.
The 17-year police force veteran and mother of two is seen posing in uniform in several graphic photos she admitted were sent to an online lover she met several months ago, according to the police report filed June 6.

Some of the explicit photos of the 17-year police force veteran and mother of two show her posing in uniform, according to a police report.
“We’ll be going after her license so that she can never become a cop again. Never be a cop anywhere in the state of Florida,” Daytona Beach Police Chief Mike Chitwood told CF News.

An investigation into her crude behavior was launched after Dane attempted a sexual harassment complaint against a supervisor in May, the report states.

In addition to sending nude photos of herself, Dane admitted to frequenting sex websites while on the job.
The supervisor was cleared of wrongdoing but a forensic audit of Dane’s computer investigating her claims revealed the shocking material and use of sex websites dating back to 2009.
Approximately 177 explicit images were found on her desktop computer, and approximately 97 others on her laptop, a forensic detective said.
“The images were accessed beginning in 2009 through March 2013, all while Sergeant Danes was working,” the report states.

The Daytona Beach police chief says he will work to make sure Dane is stripped of her license and never works as a law enforcement officer again.

In addition to sending and storing the photos on her office computer and laptop, authorities say she spent extensive on-the-job time accessing sexually explicit websites where she uploaded her personal photos.
One of the websites she frequented called Red Light Center describes itself as an “adult-only 3D Virtual Environment based on the Red Light District in Amsterdam.”

Dane’s photos were found after she attempted to file a sexual harassment complaint against a supervisor in May, leading to a forensic audit of her computer for potential evidence supporting her claims.
It features “virtual online sex,” an activity Dane would engage in while at work, according to officials.
Dane admitted “she failed to lead or supervise her subordinates because of the large amount of time she dedicated to surfing the internet for explicit materials used for her [Red Light Center] account,” the investigation found.
Dane was previously disciplined in 2011 and 2012 for using city computers for personal activity.
She was additionally suspended a few months earlier this year for tanning on the job, WFTV reports.
Both Dane and the Daytona Beach Police department did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
