Spanish tradition of running of the bulls coming to U.S.

ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) –
The running of the bulls is coming to the United States, including a stop in Florida.
Named “The Great Bull Run,” the event will barrel through several locations across the country, beginning with Richmond, Virginia later this month.
The event is modeled after the annual running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain. Organizers claim they are changing parts of the run to make it safer for the participants, the bulls, and spectators.
There is one run scheduled in Florida on February 1, 2014 at Little Everglades Ranch, about an hour’s drive southwest of Orlando, or 30 minutes northeast of Tampa.
“Grab life by the horns and experience the rush of a lifetime as you sprint down a quarter-mile track with twelve 1,000-pound bulls hot on your heels,” reads a description of the event on The Great Bull Run website.
Prices range from $45 to $65 for participants, depending upon when one registers.
Those who choose not to run with the bulls can still participate in the Tomato Royale, the “insanely fun tomato food fight.”
