Daytona Beach's Ocean Rescue team is flying purple flags
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. —Sea creatures are keeping lifeguards busy along the beach.
Several beachgoers have been stung by the clear jellies. The stings are not serious, but they do require some treatment.
“The clearer they are the less they sting, but we are having quite a few stings,” Capt. Tammy Marris said.
Marris said lifeguards treat the stings with vinegar. That relieves the pain.
Temperatures are expected to rise, the rain chance has lessened and the water is cool, so officials expect packed beaches along the coastline this weekend.
