Man stole to get into gang, Volusia deputies say

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. —Deputies said a 22-year-old man told them he burglarized a home as part of a gang initiation.
James Flury was taken into custody near Daytona Beach when authorities said they caught him stealing from a home that belonged to his uncle’s ex-wife.
Deputies said the victim recognized Flury and identified him. She said he was hauling high-end electronics from the home.
Flury admitted to stealing the key to the victim’s home from her car when he and others were breaking into vehicles earlier in the week.
Detectives said Flury told them that he is trying to get into a gang called the Folk Nation Gang.
Flury now faces burglary charges. He was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail
