Don,
Is that it Don. “Thank you Manager” for removing grass and weeds that have been growing in Fire station gutters for months and we are done.
No one to be held responsible, accountable or suffer any consequences for that obvious neglect. Not the Deputy Fire dept director, Not the Public safety director. Not the public works director, Not the Assistant City Manager , Not the City Manager and certainly not the Mayor’s buddy Frank Flag who was hired to head off these very problems.
Do we know if any of these individuals ever reported this situation to anyone ?
Do we even know if any of them visited this building in the last 6 months ??
Do we even care ???
It was only last year that Counsel approved spending millions on preventable roof repairs due wholly and solely to neglect, and earlier this year when you and your colleagues approved spending hundreds of thousands more on repairing A/C systems in 2 relatively new fire stations with little to no explanation as to why such extensive repairs were necessary.
No one was ever identified as the person responsible for ensuring those A/C systems were being maintained properly. Nor was any person or persons ever held accountable for that neglect, OR suffered any consequences for that neglect.
AND it was only last week that taxpayers had their noses rubbed in the medians fiasco and once again no one was identified as the person responsible for ensuring those medians were being maintained properly. Nor was any person or persons ever held accountable for that neglect, OR suffered any consequences for that neglect.
Port Orange government must be seen as producing better results. A good place to start would be with Counsel explaining what they are doing to hold the Manager accountable for his own neglect or stupidity, or that of his staff ?
