Port Orange Police Department Advisory
The Port Orange Police Department wants you to know that the number of car burglaries and stolen vehicles has increased significantly in our City. The vast majority of these crimes involve unlocked vehicles, most with valuables and car keys left inside. Criminals are focusing on these soft targets. The Port Orange Police Department has taken extraordinary staffing measures to combat this situation but we call on all citizens to help eliminate these opportunities for crime by locking your vehicles and removing your valuables and your car keys.

Remember, an unlocked vehicle with a garage door opener inside provides direct access to your home. An unlocked vehicle with keys, wallets, purses, cash, weapons, electronics and other valuables facilitates victimization.

Call us whenever you see any suspicious activity. Always keep your safety and these crime prevention measures in mind. We need your help to send a strong message to those from within and outside our community who would victimize you.
