Mother, son arrested in alleged Volusia burglaries
A mother and son were arrested after officials said they have been burglarizing homes in east Volusia County.
Investigators were digging in the pair’s yard on St. Augustine Road in Daytona Beach. Investigators said they bagged evidence, possibly stolen property, and took it away.
Neighbors told WFTV it’s where Lyudmila Prilutskaya and her son, Georgiy Sergeyevich Andriyenko, 15, may have been hiding the stolen property. Prilutskaya appeared in court Friday.
Neighbors in the Daytona Beach community said they’re relieved that investigators raided the home.
“I looked out the front door and cops was like 13 different men all over the streets and the cars,” said one neighbor.
Neighbors said 52-year-old Prilutskaya, known by neighbors as Milly, said she drove her son and his friends around east Volusia County in her Mercedes to commit dozens of burglaries.
“Mother and son were like two little peas in a pod,” said the neighbor.
Detectives said they learned of Milly’s involvement in the past week, but knew of the burglaries in November.
Investigators said they broke into cars and stole electronics, such as iPads and cameras.
Neighbors said officers have been there many times in the past to break up parties almost every Friday and Saturday night.
“He was a little brat. He used to come to my door, ‘Did you call the cops?’ I said, ‘No, but look around you got a lot of neighbors, a lot of people could have been calling, not just me,'” said the neighbor.
Prilutskaya is facing three counts of burglary and one count each of grand theft, child neglect and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Andriyenko was charged with three counts of burglary, two counts of grand theft and one count of dealing in stolen property, authorities said.
