Santa Clause Arrested in PO bank robbery

Port Orange Police Detectives have continued to follow up on the bank robbery at the Port Orange Sun Trust Bank located at 3865 Nova Road occurring on 12/23/13. The investigation developed leads to include evidence recovered at the scene. Based on this evidence, today, 12/27/13, at approximately 4:30 PM, Port Orange Police Detectives arrested Mark N. London of Port Orange (DOB 1950).
He was arrested outside his residence without incident.  London was charged with: Possession of a Hoax Bomb, Armed Robbery, Grand Theft and False Imprisonment. After processing at the Port Orange Police Department, he was transported to VCBJ on $40,000 bond.

ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE 12-23-2013:
On December 23, 2013 at approximately 3:13 pm an adult white male wearing a Santa Claus hat and beard entered the Sun Trust Bank located at 3865 Nova Road in Port Orange. The male was carrying a wrapped package which he placed on the teller’s counter. The male then passed the teller a note demanding cash from the teller, insinuating the package was harmful.  An undisclosed amount of US currency was given to the male, who left the package on the counter prior to exiting the bank. The male entered a dark colored vehicle and fled the area prior to law enforcements arrival on scene.
The bank was evacuated and secured. The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad was called to assist in the investigation of the package. The package was determined not to be an explosive device.
The suspect pictured below is described as a white male approximately 6’ ft. tall with a medium build
