This afternoon, in front of Judge Rowe, Bradley Suntich and Tyler McClain entered their Guilty pleas, and were both sentenced to Life Imprisonment for the Homicide of Laura Hill of 3869 Sunset Cove Dr. POPD case # 2011-005658. At the conclusion of the proceedings, Judge Rowe verbally commended both Det. Wenzel and Det. Wallace for their very thorough and excellent investigation of this case in open court and on the record. Suntich and McClain will be transferred to State Prison following the normal thirty day review period, but there are not expected to be any problems or delays.

As usual, our POPD has done an excellent job for the citizens of Port Orange. Under the professional leadership of Chief Monahan and Assistant Chief Miller our very fine police officers continue to perform at a high level. Our Port Orange residents are continuously assured that their safety is job one for the POPD. Congratulations and thank you to Officers Wenzel, Wallace, Jakovento, and Dorman for their diligence in putting these criminals behind bars.
