DAYTONA BEACH —
Before the Daytona 500 there was the Grand National race on Daytona Beach from 1948 to 1958 and now race fans can take a trip back in time to see those race cars on the beach.
Vintage race cars will once again run down Atlantic Avenue, making the south turn onto the world’s most famous beach, ending at the famed north turn in what used to be the 4 point 1 track they once raced on.
But this will not be a competition, It’s all part of the historic race car parade at 1 p.m. Feb. 15 in Ponce Inlet.
After the parade, fans will get to meet some of the drivers who raced those cars back when racing was on the beach.
