Greg,
.
We must plead with you before you run!  We must also say you knew what you were going to inherit.  On the other hand you also didn’t know what you were going to inherit in 2013.  Things happen, as you well know!
.
So why are we sending this correspondence, because we DON’T want the likes of Ted Notfall, Cory Berman, the Gardner’s, and all the rest to force you into leaving.  There is a much bigger picture here.  They think it’s all about THEM, but it isn’t.  It’s about the REST OF US!  Ask them, and the others who criticize you (and your predecessor – let’s face it they will criticize just for the sake of criticizing), who think they KNOW IT ALL and CAN DO A BETTER job than you are to step into your shoes for a day, a couple of days, a week, a month!  Could those that have an agenda run this city any better than you are?  The answer is pretty clear from this vantage point.  Frankly, we wouldn’t want ANY of them running this city, but somehow they tend to!  Somebody needs to stop them, and hopefully, that is you!  You didn’t see Ted, Cory, the Gardner’s, or others as finalists when they were choosing a city manger in 2013.  It was YOU!
.
Please don’t let the negative forces of a few FORCE you to go back to Destin. You’ve had a plate full since day one.  You have those against you.  But PLEASE REMEMBER, there is a higher percentage that live in this city that are for you and believe in you!  It isn’t about the handful!  It’s about ALL OF US!
.
Think twice, three, four, five or six times.  But, don’t let the “MINI WARS” let you leave us.  It isn’t about them.  They just think it is.  Think about the reasons you took on the good, bad and the ugly in the first place.
.
Just our thoughts, for what it is worth!
.

Sounds like more of the mayors stooges. Things have continued to get worse with Kisela. Why plead for him not to run? Research his history and you will find that he has spent a great part of his career running. There are documented cases of misspent money and poorly managed projects and personnel problems. What dimension do you exist in? Look at the lousy managers that he hired, the meter debacles and the list goes on. How many people have left the city either directly or indirectly due to his management?
It’s about ALL OF US NOT THE REST OF US. If more people got involved in the city government and knew what is going on, there would be thousands of them criticizing the manager and the mayor. Do you think we should all be blissfully ignorant? PLEASE!

My suggestion to Ron and Nancy is since they are so gung ho on Kisela staying, why don’t they show up in person at the next council meeting, introduce themselves during citizen participation time and make their plea to the CM in person begging him to stay and continue doing a lousy job for the citizens.
Then the rest of us can get a good look at you and assertain whether or not there is a family resembelance between you and the Mayor or whether you may be aliens from another planet.

OK..help me understand Nancy and Ron:
Exactly what part of his job is Manager Kisela doing well? …try leaving the activists out of this….. and tell me……just give me a short list of what is going well for our city……..some substantive stuff….an actual list of things that are going right? This is a very sincere question….I always want to try to understand how the other side of any argument I am on perceives things…again…….I would think your letter and repeated defenses of Manager Kisela would be much more effective if it/they listed specific things the manager has done right…or things that have gone right..or things that are moving in the right direction… I do not see any of that when I read your letter… its very subjective….full of lots of emotion….a plea that Greg is just a nice guy done wrong….and there are no problems in the city ..its just the damned activists making trouble…sorry….ain’t buying that argument…..I like hard data.. and there is a lot wrong…if you have been paying attention….and more revelations to come…
….Also Ron and Nancy maybe consider actually sitting down and talking with some of us on how we got to where we are now….it was an evolution and it was based on wrongs done to my neighborhood by our city….this ain’t no abstract deal with me…I was just chugging along in retirement having a nice life…. and then BAM…THE EVENT …..I arrived at this point because my city would not help me with that event… ..nor would it tell me the truth about what was going on…..we had to beat it out of them….which we finally did….we resolved it by activism and by refusing to back down and just let the the city roll over us…we would not back down and they finally were able to grasp that..so they finally knew they had to help us find a resolution……..and no….I will never trust them again without hard copy verification…and neither would you guys if you knew our story…
    Sincerely,
    Dianne Gardner

I almost choked on my coffee while reading Ron and Nancy’s post. It is nice to see that we have comedians aboard. With all the doom and gloom a joke or two is always nice to hear. Thank you for your humor. I’ll be sure to put my coffee cup down prior to reading any more of your posts.

Ron and Nancy have no idea this blog exist. I’m sure. They only read the manager email.
