See how much Sonja Laney has received from the Riverwalk developers. Why did she return Buddy LaCour’s $1,000 and then take $2,200 from LaCour’s partners Atanasoski (Buddy’s Riverwalk partners) And the $350 from the McGurns (another Buddy land partner and employer of the Mayor’s youngest son while he was at college) and $700 from Parker Mynchberg (Buddy’s engineer).
She does because this is the last campaign financial report, so it can’t be a campaign issue?
Is she bought and sold? Ethical — ha! Does she think everyone is stupid? She’ll make a great addition to the Council (not). Mayor you’ve fed a great ally in your god-daughter Sonya.
Buddy will end up with far more than $5,000,000 with her in the dais. OMG (Oh my mighty givers)!

Look, we have all seen Mayor Green do things in this election that he has NEVER EVER done before in an election. There are no surprises here or hidden agenda. The agenda is open and clear. He is doing everything in his power and influence to make sure his “Buddy” gets taken care of. This has ALL BEEN ABOUT building condos in Riverwalk and Buddy LaCour getting millions of dollars from the taxpayers. Anyone who thinks otherwise, just has not been paying attention and following the details. There will be a time when a lot of people look back on this and feel very betrayed and foolish for following Mayor Green down this path. Green spent countless hours this past week calling every contact in his phone begging them to vote for Laney. He is puling out all the stops and leaving no stone unturned. Don’t underestimate the “Green Machine.” He is still very well connected in the community. This election will come down to the candidate that worked the hardest and got the most help with person to person contacts. We will know in 4 days!

Bob Ford has worked very hard. He has walked virtually every neighborhood in this city. And he is being outspent 2 to 1. Bob is essentially self financed. A few little donors like the Gardners. But the big money as Cato has told us so clearly is on the other side. This is a real David and Goliath kind of battle. And Goliath is really Allen Green. “They” are throwing like 40K at Sonya’s race. Does that tell you anything? In a town our size? Tells me there is big money from the taxpayer on the line: government contracts awarded from the dais, TIF money for Buddy…follow along clients from all those contacts. Lots of feeding at the trough. If you liked how Altamira came down with that investor and Allen Green and how well that benefited our city, you are going to love what is coming.
Allen is really pulling out all the stops to get “his girl” and the Goddaughter elected. Gotta keep that 3/2 vote Mayor’s favor going.
Am very surprised that there have not been more comments about Cato’s post. Any thoughts on that posters. Where the hell is the outrage?

Sonya is NOT Allen Green’s Goddaughter. I think if you are going to write things on here, they should at least be factual. I don’t hardly think anyone has “thrown” 40K at her either. That’s all, just state things that are true, not rumor’s. Thanks.
To reports the facts please from hank. I wish I had known sooner that Sonya is not the goddaughter of Mayor Green. If I had known that, I would not have voted for Ford.
40K donated towards Sonya can be verified I think on the election campaign web site somewhere. That money has to be made public. Could you please check on that for us please you are are reporting the facts. This also if I had known was not true I would not have voted for Ford. So sorry you came late to this discussion. Sonya is not Allen Greens goddaughter, I think I would know as she is MY sister. Not that it matters election is over, thank God. But while we are clearing things up,, next election if Sonya runs or not, let’s keep her family (father) out of the talk as he has absolutely nothing to do with her getting elected (clearly). It sickens me to read about MY father on these blogs all the while he goes to work for the city doing his job to the best of his ability causing no chaos and staying out of the political limelight you people continue to want to throw him in to. While you report your half truths and rumors check your facts. His salary is public record…. Once again whoever is the best person for the job clearly prevailed and the people voted. Just wish it didn’t get dirty, as my father has always been a provider and a wonderful man. What a shame you have to talk about him. Totally agree with you. I don’t know you or your father, but like you said he had nothing to do with Sonya’s race. These people just make up stuff to suit themselves and their own agenda’s. I’m with you, no more reading this dumb blog with all the ridiculous things that are posted. I wasn’t asking anyone to vote or not vote for Sonya in my previous post. Yes my reply was a bit sarcastic. I did that, because now after the election you come forth to make corrections. If only you had done so when what you felt what was erroneous when they were posted on this web site.
I understand that I sound so important to you, but I do take myself and my opinions seriously. So sorry. Many have had to deal with my personality and have not liked it, my opinions or my writing.
Better late than ever, but who cares if Sonya is not the goddaughter of Mayor Green? Sonya would have been better off explaining to us how she “was not up Mayor Green’s butt”.
I did not care for anyone referring to the fact that Sonya’s father works for the city, any more than I cared for Sonya sending mail to everyone in Port Orange decrying that Ford had been on the government payroll for 22 years.
I did write not agreeing with Sonya’s implications about people working for the government, but did not protest the reference to Sonya’s father. In retrospect perhaps I should have.
If only you who tell us these things now had only done so while the campaign was in progress.
I had sent some questions to Sonya to answer and she did not reply. I am use to that from the old style “team players”. A new style of city council people is taking over the city council, and lets you and I see that they respond to us and look out for citizens first.

If the worst case scenario occurs and Sonya is elected, we need to focus on Don Burnette.
We know which way Sonya will swing and can’t change it. Maybe with Mayoral aspirations, Burnette will swing to the side of the citizens and side with Stiltner and Bastian on more issues.
