On behalf of the city, we want to thank you for the response and repair to Ruth Street in a timely manner. We understand that the video of the pipe did not result in evidence of a leak in the storm pipe installed by your crews with the Dunlawton Ave Drainage Improvements. This is not comforting as you know as well as we do that there is possibly some anther source of a leak or void that caused the road to fail. We recommend your firm video the sewer pipe that is parallel to the storm pipe. It may be that a sewer lateral is the cause of the failure. Several of the laterals were replaced with the Dunlawton project in this area. If a reoccurrence of the failure happens in the near future, the city would surely be looking to your firm to come back for the repair again since this happen once during the warranty period. Please advise us if the sanitary sewer main will be video’d.
Also, please provide the video of the storm pipe and pictures as soon as they are available.
