Aw Yes ! Port Orange Ethics 101
Aw yes Dianne,
Those were the good old days when prim and proper Sonya was lecturing me about ethics, AND telling the world how ethical she was. My goodness you would have thought she had won Ms Ethical Behavior USA to hear her talk ……. ( see: http://merry-christmas-from-the-graybar – hotel )
But when you think about it, how ethical was it exactly for Sonya and her sneak attack partner Councilman Burnette to ambush me as they did in their well coordinated effort to have me removed from the Audit and Budget Advisory Board as documented in the U-tube you attached. Their efforts failed magnificently to the dismay of disgraced Manager Kisela, former Mayor Judy Anderson turned hit lady, and the Chamber members who were in attendance that evening to apply some light black mail to Councilman Bastain, AND to watch my head served up on a platter as promised by none other than Burnette as a down payment for the Chamber support he had been promised for his expected 2016 Mayoral run.
Sonya resigned from the ABAB two days after this U-tube of Aug 5th 2014 and went on to lose the Nov election, begin divorce proceedings and spend Christmas morning with her Chamber of Commerce boyfriend held at gun point by her distraught husband who was so financially supportive in her election campaign, and in her earlier education efforts and in the establishment of her CPA office.
Burnette went on to lose his vice-Mayor status and the Chamber will be lucky to salvage any relationship with the City after the dust settles from the latest ham fisted contract renewal boondoggle performance of current Chamber President Ray Donadio who is rumored to be running for Mayor himself in 2016 having recently moved to Port Orange for just that purpose. Poor little sneaky Don Burnette is finding it increasingly hard to catch a break anywhere, and certainly won’t get one from Councilman Ford having stabbed him in the back as he did in the recent election.
Considering Mayor Green is the direct and proximate cause of all this, [ in that he cajoled Sonya to serve on the ABAB as a foil to my efforts in exposing Kisela’s incompetence and his even more incompetent Finance director Saunders, AND later persuaded her to run for City Council against his arch enemy Councilman Ford ] I hope he will have Sonya back from time to time to lecture us on ethics, OR to at least read us the chapter she has added to that wonderful classic which might go something like this Twas The Night Before Christmas and all through Sonya’s house Bob Laney was stirring In search of a louse …………….

Dear Ted,
There has been a rather stunning reversal of fortune for several local political types who seemed to have such profound certainty about the way things should be or would be as we moved forward from the recent election here in the City of Port Orange. What is that line you use I like so much? “In the fullness of time”.
Two phrases immediately came to mind for me from political polar opposites: Martin Luther King, Jr. said: The moral arc of the universe is long but it bends toward justice” and Clint Eastwood in the Unforgiven says: “We all have it coming, kid”.
Guess for all of us, our sins will ultimately find us.
I, like you, continue to want open transparent responsible government. And my assumption based on immediate past events is that the universe will continue its relentless leveling process. And frankly, that gives this old girl hope about our little city. Think all we need to do is keep on keeping on, asking data driven questions and insisting on accountability. We will get there.
It’s going to be an interesting new year.

The real tragedy here is that Port Orange government has been corrupted to the core by Mayor Green.
Taxpayer interests have suffered and will continue to suffer until he is gone, AND the last vestiges of the cronies he has appointed to his many ‘volunteer’ boards as he likes to call them are gone also.
Ditto for his bought and paid for Chamber, the incompetent employees he protects and for the pocket votes he has managed to get elected to Council – many of whom he groomed at the Chamber and on on those volunteer boards he controls.
Taxpayers deserve a much better deal than they have gotten to date. Hopefully we have the ability to begin righting some of Greens shady deals in the coming months and will finish that job with the 2016 elections.

Looks like the pieces of the puzzle are finally coming together. Green and the Riverwalk Captain supported Laney. Sonya’s squeeze entrenched in Port Orange boards and then the chamber. The attacks on Ford and Noftall now seem premeditated. Didn’t Burnette read a pre written speech when attacking Ted? Who wrote the note he struggled to read? It appears the more you dig the more you find. Would not be surprised if we soon uncover the real bomb and the FEDS take them all away. What have they really done? The rolling snowball is getting bigger by the moment taking NO PRISONERS.
Let’s bring forth facts not assumptions.
It is ok to question. When you bring forth guesses it clouds all other information that could be true.
to onlooker 2 from hank: guesses I guess (a pun?) is sort of like suspicions? Not to be accepted when they are negative? If someone has the truth and facts, how come they don’t come out with them. Have you ever heard a political guy when announcing something distressful which has happened say “We may never know what happen or why this happened”. There are a lot of issues that the Mayor has promised to get to the bottom of. Do I have to enumerate those issues that he has not fully uncovered, and thus we are left with guesses. Are you the guy who had told me that someone on city council would let out what the details were in the meeting between DBS and PO with a high power lawyer, and that someone would let me know why exactly PO did not win in that closed meeting to get back all the money lost. Oh excuse me, someone else reminded me on this blog that the money was not lost, but merely not “generated”. Then you come along wanting only facts to be repeated on this blog. Are you not aware, that the facts are hard to come by because of a purposeful non transparency attitude from the old guard.
I get the idea that the Mayor’s city attorneys do not like Bob Ford giving out facts on this blog. So, sorry, onlooker 2, we are left to guess. I wish you would join us in getting to the facts. I hope you do not ask me what facts we still don’t know about, it would be a chore for me to spend time on, which I now am very aware that some like me to spend my time doing such rather than guessing.
Let’s do it this way. You tell us what facts have been released to us which should be stopping all the guessing. thanks for your opinion, but I guess that you just do not like negative guesses. Here’s another way to do this. You give us some of your positive guessing. — hank
We just had a bunch of facts brought to our attention…and yes..many reasonable inferences can be drawn from those facts…and they all speak to a shocking level of cynicism that the supporters of the status quo were apparently willing to tolerate in this last election..where the hell is the outrage from the people who care about our “Family Values” image? And what about their own personal standards? Made me think of the John Edwards mess..an electorate and grieving spouse fooled. Tragic and sordid.
To Dianne from hank: The term “family values” turns me off. The idea has been hijacked by politics and religion. The family values of the USA black sub culture? – The Christian Right? – The Dogmatic Catholic faith which allows no divorce? — Family values of the Clintons? Dianne are you close to condemning and perhaps persecuting Sonya and Mike because of the awful, dreadful idea of sex acts between them?
If you want to speak to loyalty, commitment, and perhaps the absence of love between Sonya and Bob, I don’t think you have such details. In my 53 years of marriage I never had such a problem but if I had, I would not appreciate being persecuted by you and Mike either in my career or my social relations.
Let us stick to performance in politics and not stray into your version of morality and who should be burned in the bon fire of “family values”. — Hank

You are an odd duck. I would have to classify you as a right wing liberal. I enjoy you’re posts as well as Dianne’s. Our freedom to express should be respected. I do not agree or share the same values of every blogger but I indeed respect their right to voice. As with most blogs part of the fun is to sort out what is real. There are many personalities that blog here. Some shocking revelations have come together cumulatively as well as some tall tales. This is a nice place to find some behind the scenes info as well as a place to just vent once in a while. Happy blogging.

You must lead a very sheltered life Onlooker 2. Nobody could conjure up stories as good as the real ones that come out on this blog. Recent history has shown that everything posted has proven to be based on truth.
You ask “did Mike and Sonya have an affair?” What is that question all about anyway? Sounds like you too are spreading rumors, good job.
The problem with Port Orange is mostly rumors AND mostly true.
The whole city politic and administration are the biggest bunch of ########expletive hypocrites I have ever seen. This is not only just Green, Burnette, the CM, and his administrative confidants that fail to practice what they preach, but this also includes the rest of council and the tea party activists. What a bunch of Pharisees. Romans, and Maccabean Zealots. They all didn’t get it and neither do you. The biggest bunch of hypocrites are the bible thumpers that deny the spirit of the faith they proclaim to believe in, and this family value mantra is the biggest crock of shit I have ever heard. What a bunch of whitewashing bullshitters! Oh what tangled webs we weave when at first we do deceive. You reap what you so and whatever go’s around comes around. I think your karma is going to roost soon as you build up wrath against the day of wrath. You all waste your time attending church and toting bibles. I just wonder how long it will take before reality wakes you up to your vile illusion of what the truth is all about.
to Unbelievable: If I had heard any bible thumpers I would have negatively commented. The only thing close to religion I have seen or heard of is when Burnette crosses himself for a moment of prayer and ends it by saying “Amen”. Family values? Well, that would interest me too if we are talking about Christian family values. Unbelievable I think you may be writing on the wrong blog. Aren’t we all secularists here?
