OOPS " …very unsanitary conditions according to state inspections at the city owned restaurant. …"

City Manager Port Orange ….
Good morning, …
I’m emailing you regarding the reports from Kemper Management on the Cypress Head Golf Course.
Last night, it was brought up by ‘Citizens’ for a Better Port Orange’ that there have been very unsanitary conditions according to state inspections at the golf course restaurant. These are public inspections and management is made aware of these inspections.
Please provide answers to my following questions. I would like to interview someone with the city on camera. Can someone be made available?
-Was the city’s Parks and Recreation Department and Director made aware of the poor inspections?
-If not, why wasn’t she made aware?
-If she was made aware, then why were they not brought up to the interim city manager, asst. manager, or during last night’s meetings?
-Why wasn’t the poor state inspection results brought up by Kemper Sports Management in any case, whether city management was made aware of the poor inspections or not?
-And regardless , these inspections are posted online for everyone in the public to see, why did it take a group of citizens to bring this up publicly when the city is considering $1.6 million dollars to renovate the facility?
-Is the city moving forward with its renovation plans and will the city continue to work with KSM to manage the facility?
We will be running a story on this today. My deadline is 2pm. I appreciate your time.
Thank you,
News9

    David,
Do all the employees who handle food at Cypress Head have the proper training in food safety and have their state certifications for food handling?
    Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Don

Why ask him? He’s only putting in his time until he gets Mr. Rosen up to speed and then he’ll get the hell out of Dodge.

Dictionary definition of Chef: A chef is a person who is a highly skilled professional cook who is proficient in all aspects of food preparation.
And taxpayers paid a big salary for a big-time Master-chef and this is what we get ???
Never mind the financial audits at the city course, we should be looking for a payroll audit.
Is the course management padding the payroll with their friends and family at high salaries to use up all the profits?.
Dictionary definition of Nepotism : Favoring of relatives or personal friends because of their relationship rather than because of their abilities.

I almost laughed out loud last night when the guy from Kemper said “they were lizard droppings not rat droppings”. I personally have never seen lizard droppings even when the occasional lizard gets into the house. Doesn’t he think that the health inspector knows the difference between lizard droppings and
    RAT SHIT?????

Tonight our special of the day bill of fare at the club house restaurant will feature “Flambe of Marinated German Cockroach Topped With Parmesean Encrusted Lizard Turds”.

Slow down everyone, stop jumping to conclusions and give the Golf Board time to investigate this matter thoroughly, and to conclude that no one especially themselves performed incompetently. Heck guys Ford and Harden have been far to busy trying to slide another $1.6 million loan into a country club money pit to worry about roaches and rat shit, and besides Mike the computer game pro has assured them that it was only lizard droppings. Lance cannot be pleased with that reference.

If you closely watch the Mike Gardner u-tube above you will be treated to a rare first time sighting of Mrs. Laney sporting her boyfriend and her new flats. Guess her heels are a thing of the past until her boy toy grows a couple of inches.

Miss ethics my a$$. I’m not the Mayors Girl. Funny the Mayor chose her as his candidate for the city manager selection committee in spite of the recent show of character. Birds of a feather flock together. All her special interest money didn’t buy a seat. Perhaps if we manipulate the city manager selection we can continue to serve personal and special interest groups. Is there an end to this in sight?

I predict Harden will be leaving before memorial day perhaps to embark upon a long prayer vigil.

Sonya’s demeanor throughout the meeting was that of a spoiled, petulant child. Her heckling of Ted Noftall when he got up to speak gives you and idea of her character….not that it wasn’t already known by recent activities. She should most definitely not been elected to any committee but then again…she is Allen Green’s little darling.

Having a front row seat watching Tuesday’s meeting on POG TV I wondered why Mrs. Ethics and her boyfriend came to the meeting at all. She sat there the entire time with a bored expression on her face and a pout. I assumed she was going to get up during citizens participation and lambast the bloggers but no, before the meeting was over she and her boyfriend abruptly got up and left. I guess she has no guts and realized she’d be making a fool of herself. That’s my take.

This is such a misrepresentation of what is a very common occurrence, like it or not, and has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not a restaurant is private or publicly owned. I decided to look up other restaurants in Port Orange to see how they compare. So below is the link that Mrs. Gardner used for her research, and you should do the same. However, full warning, before you search your favorite dining venue, be prepared to swallow what you see. I looked at many of the most popular restaurants and other golf course restaurants in our area, including the privately owned Crane Lakes (Cranes Roost). ALL OF THEM that I looked up had similar reports and findings (and many worse) to what has been presented about Cypress Head. Does that make me feel better? No. However it does put things into a much more realistic and understood perspective. By the way, what I would consider two of the most popular restaurants in Port Orange (by the looks of their constantly packed parking lots) have far worse reports than that of Cypress Head. See if you can figure out which ones. I’ll be eating at home this weekend! https://www.myfloridalicense.com/wl11.asp?mode=0&SID=&brd=H&typ=N

Oh ! Susanna don’t you cry for me I came from cockroach city with some rat shit on my knee.
Right about now the Kemper VP from Chicago head office is meeting with Green and Harden to decide how deep they must cut to save face.
Lazy ass Mike and Fat ass Susan both need to go because they were both in on the cover-up.
If area restaurants are as dirty as Susan is saying they are she should feel right at home when she starts looking for a new job later today or tomorrow.

Everyone with a bit of common sense knows that most restaurants are sometimes in violation. I think the problem here is that Kemper lied on their reports and that obviously the city council and manager were not aware of all of these violations.

    Dear Mr. Harden,
I would like let you know how upset I am over the Channel 9 TV news report about Cypress Head Golf Course yesterday 1/21. The TV news made not only the City of Port Orange look bad, but also cast a poor light on the golf course and theresidents here at Cypress Head community. The interview was an embarrassment to all concerned. Where was the manager of the course during this interview? The poor employee looked mad as hell and was getting coaching from somebody behind the camera not to answer any questions. This really made the course look like an inviting place to visit. To add insult to injury, in todays Daytona Beach News Journal the manager of the course is quoted as saying that the rodent droppings were from lizards, not rats. Folks, shit is shit! It is time to find another management company to run this course before you spend a dime of taxpayer money to renovate the course. Also stop trying to make the course bar and grill into some fancy restaurant/banquet facility. There are far better eating establishments in Port Orange that offer better food at a better price. The course cannot pay off debts not because of bad weather, but of poor management that has not been held accountable. Kemper Sports does not even want to sell season passes or what others call memberships which would increase play by keeping players coming back. And how about Kemper closing nine holes of the course down on Wednesday and Sunday afternoons so some people can play soccer? Enough is enough. I love playing the course, I love living in Cypress Head community but things just are not right at Cypress Head Golf Course. The town is paying how much to Kemper Sports? Time to ask for your money back.
    Sincerely,
    Jack Nedorostek

Probably a similar response was made by the captain of the Titanic when he was advised that the supposed water tight compartments were over topping….the band plays on in the City of Port Orange..

Thank you Mr. Nedorostek for your input and your most sensible comments. I was beginning to think that no one at Cypress Head was paying attention. After all is said and done we are all taxpayers.
You just can’t make a silk purse out of a sows ear and that’s what some people want to do with the restaurant at the golf course.
Probably some minor upgrades need to be done to he greens to get it back in shape but as to putting all that money into the restaurant….it’s more than ridiculous. It;s an obscene waste of taxpayers dollars better spent elsewhere.
If the council cannot see this then I feel something terrible is happening in this city.
