NORTH PORT, Fla. — City Public Works Director Branford N. Adumuah has accepted the same position with the City of Port Orange Florida. His last day with the City will be March 13, 2015.
Adumuah has been with the City since 2004 when he was hired as the Assistant Public Works Director. He was promoted to head the department in 2006. His current annual salary is $128,986.21. The Public Works Department currently has 136 employees.
Adumuah’s highlights with the city include overseeing the resurfacing and paving of
hundreds of miles of City roads. 274 miles from 2006-13. Another 266 miles are expected to be complete by the end of 2016. The current plan is part of a $41 million road bond approved by City voters.
Other notables include improvements to customer service, solid waste, and storm water drainage. There has also been construction of a new fleet maintenance facility, miles of sidewalks, and widening of Sumter Blvd. Public works received accreditation by the American Public Works Association in 2014.
Adumuah says “The above accomplishments would not have been possible without the hard work, dedication, and commitment of the employees, supervisors, and management team of the Department of Public Works. I cannot find enough words to describe my appreciation and gratitude to them.”
Current Project Administrator for Public Works Julie Bellia will head the department as the City searches for a replacement.
