As far as I know, we do not know who sent this annonymous letter to the mayor. It may be from someone who likes to give out negative criticism, or it may be from some one who does not like to receive negative criticism.
I have seen an unseemly attempt to stifle negative critizen when Bob Ford was running for city council position. A good number of identified people went before the city council to complain about some citizens coming before the city council members, week after week, pointing out negative aspects of city government operations. The facts of mismanagement have been produced by citizens to the city council, and yet there are those who do not want to hear the facts, but want the negative findings to be stifled.
It is a shame that as of March 17, 2015 the city council met in an unrecorded meeting and the issue of negative criticism came up. I have found that 2 out of 3 city councilman have a different perspective on what exactly was said about stifling negative criticism. If only every meeting of the city council would be recorded so that the public can review exactly what was said. The city manager has told us that such a recording of every meeting of the city council is not required by law to be recorded. Do you think every time the city council meets the meeting should be recorded by the city clerk of Port Orange? I think so.
Do not jump to conclusions about who sent this offensive letter to the Mayor of Port Orange.

The person who sent that letter to the mayor clearly doesn’t have a clue and is a coward. They should know that Dunlawton is a state road and the repaving is an FDOT project, not a Port Orange project. They didn’t think before they inserted their foot in their mouth.

The person who wrote this is confused…may have spent some time in Chattachoochie who knows? All I know is that some of our upper management and council people would probably benefit from a stay there. Maybe a little shock treatment and some lithium would get their thinking straightened out.
