“Ollie (Allen), this is a fine mess you’ve gotten us into!”
All these years the vision of Port Orange has been guided by an experienced construction company owner, Allen Green. And such guidance has been suspiciously lax in contracts and work performance. In recent months we have had investigations into volumes of dirt, hauling dirt, excavating dirt, drainage, water, a lake, a berm, and water bills.
It appears to me that modern day profits are to be made in water meters, water bills, water environment, and dirt.
It also appears to me that easy profit can be made in audits that take the word of people in the game, investigations that don’t even interview the City’s Grant administrator and the Grubbs family.
There is a rumor that a key player working for the city, once part of Green’s team, has been fired. I hope the city will provide an explanation for the termination. It may be, and I hope it is, that finally the city council has come to terms with the swindles that have been going on in construction contracts in the city of Port Orange. It would be so tiresome for me to list them here in this essay.
There are still some who seem to want the return of the good old days when business in Port Orange was conducted without correct documentation and crossing of the “t”s.
Let me take this opportunity to thank the city council, if they are responsible, for the firing of a key team player in city government. Unfortunately we do not know what phone calls were made in back rooms concerning this issue. I think the public is owed an explanation for the termination and who called for such firing.
Also at this time I thank Ted Noftall, Mike and Dianne Gardiner, Mark Schaefer and Newton White for being interested in Port Orange City politics and operations. If it weren’t for their efforts, I don’t think we would have known 95 percent of the screw ups in this city.
At this time, I would not mind if all of the city council, excepting Bob Ford, was replaced. If positions and attitudes are changing with the four, excepting Bob Ford, I think they should let us know.
To Mr. Ken Parker I say: “Sir, you knew just when it was a good idea to no longer have ‘the fire in your belly’”

Seriously, can you read? The QLH letter speaks for itself. An incompetent “auditor” and a city council on a witch hunt. I do agree with you in part some of the council should be replaced, but that would be Ford. I’m quite sure he’s pulling the Noftal and Gardners strings so they can be his mouth piece and he has deniability. Talk about back room dealings, you don’t have to look too far, the mirror is a good start.

Wait a minute. Don’t we recall a dust up during the project were Masci was moving the dirt to a construction site in Daytona Beach were Mayor Green was the contractor.
So were did the dirt really go, Daytona Beach or the well fields?

So the Neff report is useless too. The scapegoating of a mid level employee for the sake of a city with no internal controls, and the lack of a finance department is really disgusting. It’s upper managements fault all the way. I see personal and contractual service lawsuits on the horizon. The truth will come out now with the QLH response. Lack of upper management, internal controls, and financial fiascos. What charges would be faced for filing false misleading information to scapegoat one? Defamation of character? Once again egg all over the face of the fine city of port orange. Way to go. I think the shoe is about to be on the other foot.

The Neff report was compiled under the direction of a perfunctory engineer (Smiling Bunny Teeth) in order to scapegoat a perfunctory engineer by direction of a half senile interim city manager (Elmer Gantry) to placate the city politic who are trying to placate the city activists. A perfunctory interim city manager directing a perfunctory director who is a perfunctory engineer carrying out a half ass attempt to scapegoat a perfunctory city engineer in order to deflect the blame from the mayor and upper management. Mr. Brad Blaiss may not be everybody’s number one hero, but at least he definitely demonstrates in his treatise that he is a cut above Smiling Bunny Teeth, the perfunctory director/engineer that has directed the compilation of the NERF report. Did you see the last council meeting when he was fumbling over the scripted material he directed his staff to compile for him. When asked about a payment for work on a specific project he fumbled through the material that was compiled for him and was unable to navigate it for the information. He probably did not read the material but had it sorted to highlight some information that he thought would be the extent of what he would need to address. More to come in future council meetings but as he runs his staff off he will not have anyone to script things for him and if he is asked questions by the council or the activists that requires holistic knowledge of what he is suppose to be managing it will become abundantly clear just how perfunctory he is.

Looks like the Screw-up Fairy is Freddies Fairy Godmother. He and Mrs G were gleeful in Council chambers last evening daring Green and his cronies to make good on their threatened action and fire him..
Fortunately for Freddie, Harden and the incompetents blinked and he is back to work as of 9am this morning.
No responsibilities, just a big fat paycheck.

Can you say QLHA versus Ted Noftall & Mike Gardner? I knew you could! I could see Brad becoming the new owner of a particular moving and storage company in Port Orange before long.

Can you say Peg Leg versus Smiling Bunny Teeth & the City of Port Orange? I knew you could! Maybe old Peg Leg can acquire him some real estate in Riverwood.
