The Port Orange area received more than 4.5 inches of rain Saturday, beating the 2.4 inches recorded on Nov. 21, 1959, . No major flooding was reported, but some roads in low-lying areas were impassable in the afternoon.

Storm-water poured through pumps near a retention pond on Wiltshire Boulevard in Port Orange as city workers took steps to keep flooding under control from the heavy rains Saturday.
Port Orange crews also used pumps in the Cambridge and Sweetwater Hills areas to address the flooding in those areas. Pumping water from canals and redirecting it to Rose Bay.  The pumps were part of a larger effort were the city has been trying to combat flooding after area homes were flood damaged last year..
