Ponce Inlet, Fla. —
A Volusia County Sheriff’s helicopter made an emergency landing on the beach Wednesday morning.
According a sheriff’s spokesman, the helicopter, Air One, was on a routine flight when the crew felt a shudder in the engine. The pilot decided to make an emergency landing.
The helicopter landed safely, under power, just over a mile north of Ponce Inlet around 10:30 a.m.
No one was injured in the landing and there was no damage to the helicopter according to the spokesman.
Officials are trying to determine how they will remove the helicopter from the beach.
